Getting started

I’m an artist at heart.  And I’ve always appreciated practical.  Which might not make sense to some people, at least not before you think about it… but art is really about taking ordinary things–like clay or yarn or tomatoes–and turning them into beautiful, colorful, delicious things.  It’s only one more step to make wonderful things that retain the usefulness of their humble beginnings.  I love to find the beauty in the everyday.  It’s my way of finding enjoyment in chores that have to get done, and fun that requires no money.  That’s what I hope this blog and this site will be about, and will help others find as well.  Joy, not in spite of, but because of, the practical side of life!

I like your Blue Boardwalk concept statement – “Practical is not boring.” In these difficult economic times, I think you have identified a “thrifty niche” to which many people will relate.
